Ian Benson

Ian first set foot on a stage nearly 10 years ago but has been a show-off for thirty more than that! He entered the Am Dram world as an enthusiastic novice, his enthusiasm has not dimmed but he now has one or two more skills…apart from dancing!
He has appeared in shows with LTC and SODS in the Southend area, performing in a variety of roles including Bauman in Mack and Mabel, Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof & Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls.
Ian is a Teacher and has shared the benefit of his own stupidity with many students in this area of Essex. He spends his spare time playing ukulele & participating in quiz nights… usually not at the same time.
He was overjoyed to play Nathan Detroit on joining BasOp in 2015 for the production of ‘Guys and Dolls’ seeing him taking his first leading role. It was an ambition held for many years and he found it hard to believe he was given the chance. Ian not only loved the role but also being a member of an amazing cast and joining the Society, he has recently joined the committee and hopes to help progress BasOp.
