Katy Potter

Katy first became involved with BasOp at the age of 10 when she played a pickpocket in the 1994 production of ‘Oliver’ at Basildon’s Towngate Theatre. She then disappeared from the stage for 20 years but after losing her Mum in 2012 she was reminded how precious life is and decided to seek comfort in her old love of the theatre. Feeling very scared she decided the only group she would feel safe with would be BasOp and so she returned to find some old friends still there and a warm welcome from the whole family. After featuring as part of the ensemble in the BasOp 2013 production of ‘Annie’, Katy was thrilled to take on her biggest challenge playing the part of ‘Helene’ in ‘Sweet Charity’. She also took the part of General Cartwright in ‘Guys and Dolls’ in 2016.
